Santa chocolatier pop 'n' cut mug card

As I was meandering through a craft shop last week I found an adorable dovecraft stamp that I knew would go perfectly with Karens mug pop up die. While I was there I also restocked my supply of bling:)

I replaced the stamped spoon the elf was holding with a flagpole die end and topped it off with a bright red blingy crystal.
P.s. There are now only 62 sleeps to Christmas:))

Too many balloons pop 'n' cut card...

Okay, so my experiment to see if I could fit 14 balloons on a card for my 14 year olds birthday Didn't work out as well as I'd hoped! 14 balloons are just too many. In order to fit them all on I tried to use a layer of acetate sheet as we did in last months Karen Burniston defying gravity design challenge. I tried to copy the technique Helen used on her Emma card.

This is the side view of it and as you can see I ended up just obscuring the back balloons with the ones on the acetate sheet.

On the plus side I found a lovely Karen Burniston balloon die I didn't know I had in my stash and can see the potential for a card like this but with less balloons!!
Oh I forgot to show you this photo of how I got the edging on the maroon card using Karen Burniston's stitched framelits.

Father Christmas pop 'n' cut card...

There are 66 sleeps to Christmas now, so I really need to get a move on with my Christmas cards! I had such fun designing this card, for the chimney I adapted Karen Burniston's suitcase pop up card die and embossed it with a chess board embossing folder.
The little houses on the front of the card are a new Marianne dies set I found at grafton crafts and the sleigh and reindeer are from a Sizzix decorative strips dies.

Snowman pop 'n' cut card

I'm definitely getting into the holiday spirit now there are only 69 sleeps to Christmas. I managed to squeeze in a little card craft time in between school runs, Playgroup duties, and lunch with friends today.

Happy nearly Christmas:)

Pop 'n' cut label 'Bob' the kite card...

I was really excited about doing Karen Burniston's latest design challenge which was to create something that appeared to defy gravity. I had the perfect card in mind for my daughter who was just about to became 12 years old.

On our hiking holiday last year we bought this lovely little diamond shaped kite with a face on it. My daughter decided it needed a name and christened him 'Bob'. He now is a regular on our hikes were we try to take a photo of him bobbing along behind us every chance we get.

I used Karens pop 'n' cut label die in my A2 horizontal card die for the inside of the card, but instead of using the A2 die for the outside I used the tri-fold ornate card die. The oval and wavy label were the perfect accessory for the front of my card to hide the join on my tree trunk.

The girl is a stamp from the gorjuss collection, on the stamp she is holding an umbrella but with a bit of fiddling and a lot of washi tape to conceal it I was able to adapt it to look like she is holding the kite string. I coloured her using my daughters favourite colours with my letraset pro markers.

As I wanted to make the card into a scene I elongated the trunk of my Karen Burniston 3D pop up trees placed a trunk at either side of the front piece of card. I love that I was able to use Karens new labels and stitched framelits as well as the framelits that match the pop 'n' cut label die.

Karens flagpole decorative strip die is one of my favourite dies and I use it quite often but not with the lovely street lamp that is also on it.The kite was a Sizzix sizzlits die on to which I added eyes, nose and a mouth. The spotty border along the bottom finishes my card off wonderfully:)

Happy birthday card...

I made this card to give my 7 year old an example to follow, then let her loose with my crafty stuff!

These are her efforts...

And then she became bored with following my instructions and told me to go away and leave her to it!

Hummmmm..... I hope Jasmine appreciates it!!!

Merry Christmas pop 'n' cut house card...

I was amazed how quickly I was able to make this pretty card using Karen Burniston's pop 'n' cut house card. With the coordinating thinlits dies I was able to make, photograph and post it on here in less than an hour. That's a major achievement for me!

Happy birthday pop 'n' cut card

I am so lucky to have been given the lovely Karen Burniston Sizzix dies collects. For this card I combined dies from Karen's journey and her new snippets collects. I used the Sizzix Pop 'n Cuts XL Die - Card with Ornate edging for this card. The pink oval and wavy oblong are part of Karen Burniston's framelits set.

I used the mug insert and matched it with the spotty paper from the front of the card. The cute stamps are freebies from the front of a magazine.
