Karen Burniston December challenge advent accordion album card

so here is my second card for Karen Burniston's December challenge which was to choose a month of the year and make a card for a special occasion or holiday for that month.

originally I had planned to make an accordion album 12 days of Christmas card but when I sat down to plan it I realised I didn't have the dies I would need. My none crafty friend Lisa was with me and suggested I think about an advent card and bam the ideas just started flowing.

I used Karen's Fancy Label accordion album die and all 6 different edging dies you can get from Elizabeth Craft Designs. As I don't have a number die set small enough to fit on I used jewels and gems to create the numbers.

For the surprises behind each door I used Els silk microfine glitter on double sided adhesive and promarker technique which can be seen here.

Each of the picture is a Elizabeth Craft Design peel of sticker.
For the Rudolf face I used a round peel off sticker and hand drew a smiling mouth and eyes.

On the last page in order for me to write my message neatly I glued some little clothes pegs and cut out the largest size fancy label die which comes with the fancy label accordion album die set. I can then when I need to remove the label write my message and then peg the label back in place again.

Karen Burniston December challenge fathers day card

For Decembers Karen Burniston  design team challenge Karen asked us to create cards for each month of the year, we were encouraged to used any special occasions or holidays in that month. I chose June as fathers day for the UK is in this month. I used Karen's Katie Label Accordion album die for this card and followed her instructional video to turn it in to a landscape card rather than the portrait position the die is created for.

My parents visited this month to do our Christmas present swap and my lovely mum who also enjoys card-making brought me a father day stamp set she received free on the front of a crafting magazine. I used blue and bronze heat reactive embossing powder to create the stamped 'worlds greatest dad' wording.

I used a gold shimmer sheetz and brown microfine glitter on dark cardstock with my Elizabeth craft designs wheelbarrow and accessories die set to give this very handsome card a little more pzazz.

I cut the shimmer sheetz using the Elizabeth craft designs metal plate adaptor which helps the big shot to make much cleaner cuts of the sheetz. To attach the glitter I used double sided adhesive sheets that I received in the post from ECD.

Eileen Hull bird house thank you boxes

My daughter recently had a belated birthday party and asked me to make her friends a party box each rather than a party bag.

Eileen Hull's sizzix bird house die is the perfect size to fit a small toy, a chocolate treat and a balloon in.

The thank you sign which fits nicely on the bird house is a cute Stephanie Bernard die and stamp set I bought a little while ago.

pooh bear card...

fantastic Mr Fox...

I made this card quite a while ago and packed it in preparation of our house move.. I just unpacked it and had to share it with you. Roald Dahl is one of my favourite childhood authors, I was so excited when I found some Roald Dahl paper when I visited the range.

the paper goes perfectly with Karen Burniston's fox die.

Karen Burniston house die Christmas decoration.

As some of you my know I moved house recently. Before I moved I had a big clear out of christmas decorations. Shelly a fellow blogger has been posting Christmas decorations she has made and inspired me to do the same.

This is my felt gingerbread house Christmas tree decoration using Karen Burniston's holiday house die set.

I also used the small tree die from Karen's evergreen die set and decorated it with tiny gems. I found I got a cleaner cut of the felt on my bigshot using the metal adaptor plate you can purchase from Elizabeth craft designs.
