Golfing rabbit happy birthday card

Hi all, here's a quick card one of my daughters freinds asked me to make for his Dad. Karen Burnistons Happy birthday die set really helps you make cards fast , this card took less than 30 minutes to cut out and assemble.

I used Karen  new 'lucky the rabbit' die to sit in my golfing hole.

Karen Burniston October design challenge

Hello and welcome to October! This year is truely flying by too fast. So this months challenge is one I really enjoyed. Karen challenged us to 'Characters in Costume' something I love to do. I chose Chilly the penguin for this challenge and created this very cute snow-penguin.

I used the carrot from Karens new 'lucky the rabbit' die set which is coming soon to elizabeth craft designs. The cute christmassy hat is from the Karens merry and bright pop it up props set #5.

Have you seen the new stamp sets you can also get now on elizabeth craft designs? I stamped Karens 'marry christmas' with the 'and a happy new year' on Karens tags from the tags pivot dies set and pegged them to my card. The candy cane that is included in Jolly the mouse die set is an excellent accessory for the frosty all seasons tree.

The adirondack chair pop up die set makes for a lovely scene.

I hope you enjoyed looking at this card as much as I enjoyed making it. Don't forget to check out all the other wonderful cards the rest of the design team have created.

Karen Burniston September Design Challenge...

Hello this is my second card for this months challenge which was to 'celebrate' with any accordion frame edges. I had some very happy post last week which included the new landscape accordion die by Karen burniston.
I chose to use it to create this portrait christmasy tent card. I cut out the centre of the card as I did in my easel card which was featured on the Elizabeth craft Designs blog. I then added the holiday house, the evergreen edge and the pine trees from the evergreen pivot card on each of the folds to create the 3D effect.

I use the microfine glitter to create a glittery snowy scene.

Karen Burniston September Design Challenge

This month our theme was 'Celebrate' and to incorporate one of the various frames that go with any of the accordion dies.
I used the ring accordion die with the scallop edge from the ring edges set 1 to create this easel card for my daughers birthday.

Don't you think whiskers the cat looks very cute with the grey patterned paper.

Denyse Schmidt fabric quilt using sizzix 2 1/4 inch hexagons...

Hello, I decided to make my children a family heirloom of a quilt each, this is the first quilt I have ever made and thought I would share it with you.

For this english paper piece quilt I used sizzix 2 1/4 inch hexagon die to cut out about 400 pieces of card. I cut the fabric into squares bigger than the hexagon as I didn't have a bigger hexagon die. I loosely tacked the fabric to the hexagons and ironed them all. (you don't have to iron them but I found they kepted their shape better for sewing) I then arranged them into different colour flowers and hand stitching them together.

For the edge of the underside of the quilt I followed badskirts tutorial.

I machine stitched the quilt sandwich using my brother sewing machine with a roller foot.

One down, two to go!!
